[03.07.2008] Herald Tribune reported that Asia due to the many issues of water shortages, scarcity and simultaneously with the devlopment of big cities creates market opportunities for water companies.
According to Morgan Stanley's estimation the global water market, including waste-water treatment, desalination plant construction and water recycling is worth around $316 billion. The bank expects private investment to play an increasingly critical role in the next few decades. The main players on this market are companies such as Black & Veatch, Siemens Water Technologies and Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies.
The most promising markets are China and Vietnam. The companies are looking also at Australia, where the combination of heavy droughts and booming of mining business creates a need for water infrastructure. Source: HT and CSRinfo
